How are you getting to the event?
6 sleeps left! That’s it before the Coastal Classic is GO for 2014!
I hope you have all been enjoying your taper and are primed to go big on Saturday. Now is the time to start making preparations for getting to and from the event. By far the most stress-free option is to use public transport and the free post race shuttle bus!
The start line for this iconic event is less than 400m from Otford Train Station. With VERY limited parking around Otford why not leave the car at Sutherland Station and catch the train down.
For those that like plenty of warm up time a suitable train leaves Central Station at 5.19am, stopping at Sutherland at 5.50am before arriving at Otford at 6.18am.
If you want to avoid the early start a train leaves Central at 6.29am, stops at Sutherland at 6.59am before arriving at Otford at 7.26am. This train is perfectly timed to coincide with registration opening meaning no waiting, just complete rego, drop your bag off and your good to race!
After the event we will have plenty of free post race shuttle buses ferrying participants back to Sutherland Train Station or the Bundeena to Cronulla ferry will be operating as per normal.
For spectators coming to watch the finish please note that parking in Bundeena is limited as well, especially around the event centre. Please avoid parking on the race route along The Lambeth Walk and The Avenue, these roads are extremely narrow and you will be blocking them for race participants and local residents alike.
Please also remember if you are stopping on the way at the Garie or Wattamolla Aid Stations you will require a National Parks parking pass. Rangers will be active on the day and you will receive a fine if you do not have one.
