Now is the time to plan your travel to and from Bundeena on race day! The Coastal Classic has long had a reputation as a event where runners make use of public transport to access the event and we hope to keep that going this year.
To help prevent congestion in Bundeena please consider making use of the free shuttle buses between Sutherland Train Station (which has plenty of parking available) and the Event Centre. These buses will pick runners up from Sutherland Train Station at 7.10am and drop you at the start line in Bundeena. A shuttle service will then run from late morning and into the afternoon taking runners back to Sutherland Train Station post-event. A bag drop service will be available at the event to make it easier for those arriving by the shuttle buses.
We ask all runners to make use of this service if possible. This will help minimise disruption to the local residents of Bundeena, without whose support the event couldn’t take place. Plus the atmosphere among the runners making their way to the event just adds to the excitement! To ensure we have sufficient buses booked please add the free shuttle bus booking to your registration:
- Head to www.active.com and log in to your account with your username and password.
- Select ‘MyEvents’ from the name drop down box (top left) once logged in.
- Select your ‘Coastal Classic’ event registration and from there select Purchase Merchandise and add the free shuttle bus to your entry.
If you are planning to drive to Bundeena on race day please carpool if possible. Many of the streets of Bundeena (especially those close to the start line) are narrow and not suitable for on-street parking. Parking areas on the main street of Bundeena will also be reserved for non-event visitors to the area. Please see the map HERE for areas we recommend you to avoid when parking.
Event parking is best found ‘up the hill’ away from the start line where the streets are wider and less crowded.
