The ‘lucky’ 13th edition of Coastal Classic is a wrap for 2022!
Thanks to all runners who took part in the trail run through the beautiful Royal National Park, NSW. Blustery winds and at times heavy showers didn’t dampen the spirits of the runners who tackled the course with gusto.
The atmosphere at the finish line at Bundeena was fantastic with runners comparing times and cheering their fellow runners home throughout the afternoon. Every runner had a story to tell from the wild conditions and everyone should be proud of their achievements in conquering the conditions. It certainly was one to remember!
Doug Goulding was the fastest on the day and the overall winner in 1:56:18, less than a minute clear of Zeb Woodpower, and young gun Ryan Malecki claiming third place.
In the female category, the overall winner was Lily Logan in 2:10:19, in front of Katie Mahoney who improved one spot from last year and in third place was Jamie Delaney.
Congratulations to these runners and those that podiumed in their respective age categories. Shout out to out event sponsor Tailwind for some terrific prizes.
Also a huge thank you to all our dedicated volunteers, especially Billy’s Bushies who volunteered at our aid stations and marshal points along the course to make sure all runners were looked after. Despite the conditions they were out in force along the course cheering runners on, we couldn’t do it without you!
